The heat of summer is finally here!
With all of this summer sunshine, those hot and hyper kids might need some help cooling down. Pool parties and popsicles are a popular way to chill out on a hot summer’s day.
However, most store bought popsicles are packed full of sugars or artificial sweeteners, which won’t help those hyperactive kids to relax and are damaging to your overall health.
Skip the junk from the grocery store and try my tropical frozen treats instead. They are a delicious, healthy alternative to help you beat the summer heat.
Ingredients
2-3 organic strawberries, sliced
½ cup organic frozen blueberries
4-6 frozen peach or mango slices
4-8 kiwi slices, frozen or fresh
1 to 1½ cups coconut water
Preparation
- Divide strawberries, blueberries, peaches and kiwi evenly among four Popsicle trays. Place the fruit in the trays in alternating order, filling the trays but not damaging the fruit.
- (Don’t try to smash the fruit pieces together, allow them to gently rest upon one another.)
- When all trays have been filled with the fruit, pour coconut water over fruit, filling trays to the top.
- Freeze for 3 to 4 hours until frozen solid. Allow frozen treats to thaw for about 5 minutes before trying to remove them from the tray.
