You, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. —Isaiah 64:8 NIV

God is molding and shaping our lives the way a potter shapes clay. We simply need to be pieces of clay that are pliable, willing to surrender to the touch of his love, his guidance, his lordship.

Sometimes it can be easy to get caught up in looking at how far we are from being a finished piece of pottery instead of celebrating what a beautiful work of art he has already made. We need to celebrate the small wins, the things God has already done in our lives, the new life we have in Christ.

Even if we’re early in our Christian walk, we have made a statement of faith, we desire to trust God, we have hearts that are open to his work. Maybe we’ve had a series of setbacks, but still we are open to God’s work.

We’re open to his gift of hope as we set our focus on him. “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” Philippians 1:6 NIV.

How are you already a work of art? What small wins can you celebrate?

Food for Thought:  You are clay in the loving potter’s hand, and he will carry his good work on to completion
