You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. —Matthew 5:14
God has chosen you to give light to the world by the way you live. This will happen more and more as you yield yourself to his transforming work inside you. Colossians 3:12 says you are chosen and dearly loved. John 15:15 says you are Christ’s friend. Colossians 3:3 says you are hidden with Christ in God. These things are true about you right now based on God’s work. They aren’t based on anything you do or any goals you are trying to achieve.
If you wrap these verses around your heart and soul, you’ll start to look at yourself differently and become able to pass this gift on to others. He surrendered his whole life on the cross—so that you could be forgiven, made new, made clean. There are no longer any barriers between you and God.
As you refocus your heart, mind, and life on this truth, you’ll be able to move forward in all the ways that God has intended for you. He will make sure you shine as a light in a shadowed world.
