God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it. —1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG
As we’re on The Daniel Plan and trying to move forward in five essential areas of health, we are bound to face temptations to quit. We are bound to face setbacks and relapses. That’s part of growing—three steps forward and two steps back. When the steps back happen, we don’t need to be discouraged.
God will never let us down, and he’ll never let us be pushed past what we can endure. He will move in close and offer help if we let him. “Let God work his will in you. … Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time” (James 4:7-8 MSG).
Instead of focusing on the two steps back, it’s helpful to celebrate the three steps forward.
Progress is what matters, not perfection. If there are gradually more forward days than back days, it will lead to big results. As Paul says in Romans 8:28, God will fit everything together for good, even our failures.
Food for Thought: Amid evert setback and temptation, God is at your side. He’s helping you up and speeding you on your way again toward victory.
